Soft-launch metrics that matter for Thailand builds
A US test cell can teach onboarding copy. It cannot teach you whether your first-purchase event still means anything once store billing and local wallets show up.
Proxy Routecore sits in Don Muang for a practical reason: a large share of the titles we review soft-launch into Thailand, then get rolled into a slide labelled “SEA.” That slide is where otherwise careful teams start lying to themselves.
Keep these four, even when sample is small
Store split. iOS and Google Play install weeks are not interchangeable here any more than they are elsewhere. If you only have a few hundred installs, say so on the slide instead of averaging them into confidence.
Payment mix next to conversion. A first-purchase rate without a note on store billing versus local wallet methods is a costume. You do not need a finance dissertation — one stacked bar is enough.
Consent timing versus tutorial complete. If the prompt fires on first open, your “tutorial start” cohort is not the same population as a US cell that prompts later. Gaming App Analytics without this cut will invent a tutorial problem you do not have.
ICT session peaks. Copying a UTC heatmap from another region makes evening events look like morning failures. Our Telemetry Desk checklist literally has “ICT, not UTC” on the wall.
Numbers that travel badly
CPI comparisons against a US buyer, raw DAU during a celebrity collab week, and D1 treated as a proxy for D7. None of these are useless. They are just the wrong headline for a Thailand cell of a few thousand installs.
Review latency after a patch is another quiet killer. If your “first open after update” event is missing, you will blame content when the store was still holding the binary.
What we teach in the five-week track
Soft-Launch Instrumentation is built around a store-aware event map before paid UA scales. It will not buy your users. It will stop you scaling a dictionary that already disagrees with itself. Details live on the courses list; seats are requested via contact.
